Contribution to Science

My research has resulted in the production of novel cell models in cell biology, today available to several Laboratories around the world, and through these to the elucidation of basic mechanisms that control the bone and mineral metabolism. Treasuring my clinical experience I promoted the preparation of clinical guidelines in the area of bone and mineral metabolism, today used by clinicians worldwide.

Current Research: Genetics and Clinics of Osteoporosis; Pathogenesis of Parathyroid Disorders; Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia; Genetics of Paget’s Disease of Bone; Bone Cell Biology; Epidemiology of Osteoporosis; Bone Inherited Disorders; Bone Pain.

No profit Experience: President and Founds Raiser for Fondazione Italiana Ricerca sulle Malattie dell’Osso (F.I.R.M.O. Foundation), 2006 – to present (see website: www.fondazionefirmo.com).
